Best Wedding Photography of 2019
(By me at least!)
So it’s been a decade now since I moved to Bristol and decided that I’m just enjoying photographing weddings too much and I’d love to try and do this full time. Since then it’s been a whirlwind of experiences and every year has been better than the last, I don’t know how it does it.
This year for the first time I gained international recognition in the form of being chosen for Junebug‘s ‘best of the best 2019‘. And was recognised as one of the top three photographers in The South West with a ‘Highly commended’ award from The Wedding Industry Awards. These are humbling events when you pour your heart and sole into the job you love. It’s it’s an honour to be placed among the people I’ve looked up to for so long.
At the heart of this however is the most important thing of all: creating beautiful, meaningful and lasting memories for people on their wedding day. It’s the number one thing I’ve learned and whilst it’s great to aim for the best aesthetically, sometimes it’s just about making sure you have the photographs that will bring a tear to the eye in 30 years time.
I have to thank the couples (all 271 of them!) who created the memories for me to capture, and more than ever I’m enjoying the getting to know people to that help make that happen. Whether it’s with the bride, the groom, their family or their friends. You never know how you might click with someone and what you might capture as a result. This is probably the best part of the job and after hundreds of weddings if I well up during the ceremony then I know I’m still doing something right!
So 2020 will bring my 300th wedding and I’m as excited and inspired as ever.
2020 couples I’ll see you soon!
For now I hope you enjoy my best photos from 2019, one from each wedding plus a few more!
I forgot to thank the suppliers! Many peoples hard work goes into creating the perfect day and among others I’d like to shout out Alice at Euridge Manor, Emma from Grittleton House and all of the fabulous staff at Coombe Lodge and Priston Mill.
Finally if you’re looking for a wedding photographer in Bristol, Bath or beyond get in touch and tell me about your day!
