Grittleton House Wedding
Emily & Oscar
Grittleton House near Castle Coombe has only relatively recently become a wedding venue after being a school for many years, but oh boy has this fast become one of the best venues in the Cotswolds. For starters look at it!
Add to that lots of huge beautiful rooms, an incredibly attentive venue Co-coordinator (shout out to Emma!) and fantastic chefs and you’ve got a recipe for a brilliant yet very much undiscovered venue!
It suited Emily and Oscar beautifully as they laughed their way through the ceremony in the Orangery (safely covered as it rained a little outside) and then walked out to confetti in the sunshine as in a very British way it changed just in time. From then on there was a beautiful mix of ice cream in the sun, seemingly endless canapes and a good chunk of noisy atmosphere as the guests settled right into the fun – with Emily and Oscar very much leading the way.
As you most likely noticed Emily had an unbelievable dress by Justin Alexander which caught the light beautifully. Twirls were encouraged at every opportunity and when the sun set we hunted down the perfect spot for Emily and Oscar to play in the light. Luckily we timed it just right and I hit the shutter furiously as they spun, both me and the videographer being left little speachless afterwards, a breathtaking sight to capture.
As the night drew in there was one last trick up Emily and Oscars sleeve – a dress change and a choreographed first dance but not like I’ve seen before. A flamboyant display full of lifts and explosive movement, with a flute solo mid way no less. This opened the floor for a solid half hour of dancing by guests of all ages, eventually taking a breather as we headed out for sparklers to finish the night – for me at least. As I love to do I left feeling exhausted and fulfilled, another set of amazing memories to add to my giant collection.
